.
Det. Supt. Boyd (Trevor Eve) and his psychological profiler Fley (Sue Johnston) are like a pair of middle-class middle-aged parents. He can't believe the terrible things young people get up to; she explains why they do them. Back for a seventh series, Boyd's coldcase unit tackles a complicated murder involving children and European terrorist organisations. Even with Tara FitzGerald as the team's pathologist, a valiant one-woman CSI, this is a case that would have lesser detectives calling for back-up. Boyd is one of TV's more convincing cops, though, even when distracted by news about his son, who is believed to have been killed while living on the street in the 1990s. This brings out the angry parent in Boyd, which means the murderer never stands a chance.
