1979:
Trevor had us glued to our TV sets as he shot to stardom playing private-eye Eddie Shoestring. 'There were only 21 episodes, but people who weren't even born remember it!'he smiles.

1980:
Trevor met his wife Sharon (Holby City's tricia Williams and a Nescafé ad star) in 1977 after they were cast together in a play. 'When I first saw her, I thought she was incredibly beautiful. I still do,' he says. The pair married in 1980.

1983:
Trevor played plucky Jem in a remake of seafearing epic Jamaica Inn. He says he only became an actor after 'long hours with friends' trying to analyse what career would suit him!

1988:
Off-screen, the dad-of-three loves spending time with his actress wife Sharon Maughan and his children, Alice, now 24, Jack, now 20, and George (not pictured) now 12. 'It's terrific being a father', the 55 year-old star says.

2000-present:
Trevor's played Det. Supt. Peter Boyd in BBC1's Waking The Dead since the crime drama began in 2000. 'I've a lot of symathy for the people who do the job in real life and the horrors they have to deal with,' he says.
